Want to see something neat?

Well you're in the right place!

Hi! My name is Sarah.

I’m a life-lover who's caught the travel bug. I miss the mountains, love my cat, will drink tea over coffee (especially chai), and like my music loud. I’m an artist who loves to bring a vision to life, whether it be through images, music, or the two combined. It’s all about loving what you’re doing and, in turn, producing outstanding work.

Let's be extraordinary.

The Soap Factory

Branding

Art Direction

For this piece, I was aiming to create a carefree vintage-styled logo and brand. As I did this project for fun, I came up with the company. The Soap Factory was a fitting name and I felt as though the slogan Let’s get sudsy! would be both lively and memorable.

Process

Inspired by various hand-lettered designs, the logo for the Soap Factory was initially hand-rendered and then digitized on the computer. The supporting text was added, but the logo does not rely on its use. Designs for the packaging were created by hand using the computer, each design representing its given scent.

Application

The application for this logo design will focus itself around product packaging. The fun thing about working with soap products is that there are a variety of scents to work with.

For this particular piece, I created three hypothetical scents, Pear Blossom, Raspberry Rose, and Citrus and then drew up three different patterns to accompany each scent. The patterns were designed to support each scent whether the medium be a bottle, bar, or tube.

Sarah Noëlle

Branding

Background

As an artist, I have a variety of different creative outlets. I absolutely love spending time with my guitar learning songs, writing my own, and playing them for others.

Over the past year, I created a YouTube channel to share my hobby with those around me. During that time, I was reminded that the internet is a massive platform, but a small world. Because of the positive feedback that I received from those who listened to my work, I decided it was time to kick things up a notch and give myself a personal brand.

The Brand

When I opened my YouTube channel, I decided to go by the name Sarah Noëlle, Noëlle being my middle name. I did this for two reasons. The first is that it was less direct than using my last name, and the second was that it was catchier.

Art Direction

As the brand would be representing myself, I wanted it to reflect my personality and style. After several designs, I felt that a vectorized and slightly styled version of my handwritten name suited me best. It’s fun, elegant, and down-to-earth and can be easily used on a variety of mediums.

Application

Apart from the standard forms of application for this brand, such as on the social media, I thought it would be neat to see what the logo would look like when applied to other formats such as clothing. Below are the applications of the logo on t-shirts. These turned out very well and, since receiving them, I have had requests for the wordmark on both toques and sweatshirts!

Alice's Tea Shop

Branding

Art Direction

This piece was created for a summer job application as a Junior Graphic Designer. The challenge was to create a logo for a company of choice, or a made-up business and then show it applied in a variety of manners. I enjoyed the project and I got the job!

The fictional company that I created, Alice’s Tea Shop, was inspired by the classic story Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The story provided plenty of inspiration for both imagery and content. For example, the slogan of Alice’s Tea Shop was taken from the story – It’s always tea time.

The Resistance

Typography

Art Direction

As a major music-lover, I’m always listening to new tunes and love exploring a variety of genres. When I listened to the song the Resistance, by Josh Garrels, I couldn’t help but feel the power and movement behind it. Thus, this song became the inspiration to create a lyric book that combined both hand-lettered typography and a digital type work. The result – a bold, strong, and fluid piece.

Golden Days

Icon Collection

Art Direction

Golden Days is a personal dingbat set inspired by a beautiful and carefree childhood. I chose a beach theme because I spent much of my childhood in California and many of my weekends involved ocean water and warm sand. Each dingbat is associated with a memory that reminds me of my time-well-spent on the West Coast.

Limitless

App Design

Limitless App Screens

Art Direction

Limitless is an app that helps users achieve bucket list goals in a realistic manor. Users will start by setting items on their bucket list such as visiting all seven continents, going bungee jumping, graduating from college or university, etc. Following each major item, they will set smaller goals that will help in achieving the final aspiration. An example of this could be saving enough money to buy a plane ticket, building up exercise stamina, or applying to a post-secondary program of choice. Limitless helps remove the limits of things people want to experience in their lifetime.

The base beneath the app is the need for people to take smaller steps in achieving larger aspirations. Users will be able to set and record their steps to success through an interactive platform. Limitless takes a standard list and folds it into a personal game with real life rewards.

Burgundy

Photography Collection

Background

Photographs are doorways into the past. They stir emotions, convey feelings, and freeze moments of history for later viewings. This small album, represents a collection of some of my favourite personal photography pieces.

Places

I have a traveling heart and enjoy exploring new places. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to visit many different countries. Much to my delight, each place has presented itself with a variety of photographic opportunities.

Faces

I could take pictures of people all day. Each wears a unique expression and carries themselves in a manner reflective of their circumstance. It’s always an adventure taking photos of people. Some are not comfortable in front of the camera and shy away from you, while others thrive in front of your lens. Both produce stunning work.
